Yet another chance has gone down begging to be gathered. The frustration rose to the height of making me feel depressed and disgraced. I took it as a matter of life and death to appear and wanted to clear the next lined company under any circumstances so as to prove a point. Date given was 31.08.2009 and the name of the company was BCH Electric Limited.
In the mean while came the first mid terms. I appeared for them with not too much of preparation (due to lack of physical well being and being unable to concentrate in the studies). With only 4 exams to appear for, not much time was taken by them to complete. We had the week end after the exams at our disposal to make the mind whether to go for the company or remain patient for some other one to line up.
The week end came to a hasting end and I woke up on the day of the visit of the company. With my mind still in dilemma of whether to appear or wait, I called Anil Kumar (one of our BC's), 15 minutes from the time intimated for the ppt to begin. He replied that no one has turned up so far and it was a good enough company to appear for. Just then I thought to go for it but final decision was to be made after the ppt.
After the ppt it seemed to be the opportunity I was waiting for. It was a manufacturing company with factory work on the offering. I had quite some affinity to factory job in manufacturing companies and these were the ones I longed for in the past. Consequently, the decision made in haste was affirmed.
As mentioned earlier not many students were interested in the company, the attendance in the ppt was poor, so was the condition for the written. Hence the officials who came to accomplish the recruitment process decided against having a written test and all willing were selected for the second round.
The second round was of GROUP DISCUSSION. Only 16 students were there and they were divided in 2 groups of 8 each. I was in the group that went in first. We were given the topic: Whether the Stand of Indian Government has helped in Countering the Recession in INDIA. The GD lasted around 20-25 minutes. As soon as we came out, the result was declared (before the GD of remaining 8). I was one of the 3 from the group who were selected and were to appear in the interview. From the second group 4 were selected, so we were 7 in number for the interview. We were told to report back at 2:00 PM for the third round.
As soon as the result was declared my sense of achievement was sky high and anticipation of going through the selection process till the very end and coming out victorious too has started to creep in. With all the notions in my mind, I came back to the hostel. Took my lunch (could not eat a lot), picked the folder (to actually use it for the first time) and set afoot back to the venue for the interview.
At 2, dead by the second, I was in the chamber allotted for the interviews. And within next 5 minutes time I found myself in front of two pairs of steely eyes monitoring each and every movement that I made there. The interview lasted nearly 25 minutes. There were moments when I won (by giving answers to all of their answers) and when they got better of me (by asking questions about which I had no idea). But at the end of the interview I felt that my presence was made to feel to them by me.
I came out and was surrounded by the other interviewees. They inquired about the questions asked by them and how I felt and all. Most of them were nervous as not many companies had come before this company and it was their first interview. But frankly speaking I did not feel nervous at all during the interview or the GD. The increasing questions and the panic stricken faces of the fellow students have started to make me nervous so I decided to move out of the chamber and went to canteen. By that time 2 more students had gone in and came out of the interview room.
Following me 2 more students had come out to the canteen. We were chit chatting about general things. Just then we were told to be present in the interview chamber. I thought we were called to gather before the result was declared. But to my surprise, as soon as I stepped out of the canteen there were congratulations all around three of us. The result had been declared and we three had made it through the end.
The feeling was out of the world. It was my first interview and I had converted the same. I wanted to shout aloud that YES!!! I HAD DONE IT.... I WAS NO MORE A BEROJGAAR.......
We went in to formally shake hands with the interviewees. We were asked to write our names on a piece of paper for the official records. I was too nervous that my hands were shaking while writing my own name.
My mind had stopped working. It was telling me to forget every thing and just enjoy the moments and feel proud of the feet achieved. I was the 19th student placed in the entire college and 4th in my class.
My placement at last had proved an old notion of my mind that:
"Every thing in life has a beautiful end. If it is not beautiful, it is not the end".

u rock dude
Sometimes, it helps to sit back, smell some roses, have some chocolates ( my grandma says that cures all doubts ) and take stock of life from a larger point of view. Then such things as placement and promotions and result appear too little. Life is so beautiful.
Cheers though, u made it. :)
Very Good compilation of words and nicely written....Better then expected :)
Keep Writing and Keep smiling :)
Anyways, many heartiest congrats!!!!!for the job.
One more thing, do not worry about the reputation of company at the time of joining a company. If you do well you would certainly rise.
